David Blaine Sets New Worlds Record....

On the Oprah show today, David Blaine broke the Worlds Record for holding his breath for 17.04.4 minutes...amazing!......think about that...17 mins!!
In NYC, I have seen 4 of Davids performances live and he always puts on a physically grueling, interesting, and crowd pleasing event.
I love what it is that makes different people tick and for David it seems to be challenging the mind /body connection or dis-connection.
I think he's a great showman.

Albert Hofmann...Father of LSD

R.I.P. Father of LSD
1906 - 2008
Albert Hofmann, the Swiss chemist who discovered LSD, has died of a heart attack. He was only 102.
On Friday afternoon, April 16, 1943, Hofmann had just completed synthesizing a batch of compounds when, he subsequently wrote to his supervisor:
“I was forced to interrupt my work in the laboratory in the middle of the afternoon and proceed home, being affected by a remarkable restlessness, combined with slight dizziness. At home, I lay down and sank into a not-unpleasant intoxicated-like condition, characterized by an extremely stimulated imagination. In a dreamlike state I perceived an uninterrupted stream of fantastic pictures, extraordinary shapes with intense, kaleidoscopic play of colors. After some two hours, this condition faded away.”
And thus the world’s first-known acid trip was born.

With my good friend Rafael, I went to one of their final games of the season at Madison Square Garden last night.

They even have a cheerleading squad.....lol.

A Visit To The Martha Stewart Show....

This past Tuesday, I was invited by some great friends to attend a taping of the Martha Stewart Show. FUN!!. I had never been to a taping of a TV show before and was very interested to see how things work and of course to see Martha....and Martha doesnt disappoint!

The show is filmed in 7 segments. On the day we attended the guests were Chef Yasuhiro Honma of New York City's En Japanese Brasserie, who prepared hot and cold tufu.
Martha Stewart Living editorial director of decorating Kevin Sharkey, introduced a new line of lamps inspired by Martha's personal collection and
Manhattan florist Emily Weaver joined Martha to make peony arrangements.

But lets get to MARTHA..she is very attractive and had on some sexy shoes!..her studio is beautiful.....the staff sweeps through the studio numerous times before the show starts to make sure that EVERTHING is where it should be and ready for Martha.
After she makes her lowkey entrance into the studio, Martha is all business. She is exactly what you would imagine....professional, focused, and completely sure of herself. She moved through each segment like a well oiled machine. The only time they had to redo part of a segment, was when Martha stepped out of her good lighting....which she let the the shows director know was his fault! After about an hour, the show was complete and Martha took some question from the audience. After a few questions ,she had to go , said her goodbyes and left.
Martha seems like the kind of boss who you would respect, admire and want to murder on a occasion.
After the show we went to Mario Batali's restaurant in SoHo called "Lupa".....simply amazing!!
It was a great day!!
Thank you Teresa, Frank and Carol.

Of course..Martha's studio was amazing!

One of my best friends Teresa and her mom Carol...great people!
It was Carol's Birthday..."Happy Birthday Carol!!"
Teresa is also the official "Hollywood Junkyard" muse.

After the show, Martha took a few questions from audience members....

All photos were taken by my friend Frank Schram...an amazing photographer! ....thanks Frank!

Jason Beghe Speaks Out Against Scientology...

Jason Beghe has a long list of acting credits in film and TV. He was also used to be in countless Scientology PR and training videos, including a recruitment video for Scientology’s Sea Org.
He is the FIRST celebrity to leave Scientology and publicly discuss his involvement and then disillusionment with the group. He made it to OT V on Scientology’s “Bridge to Total Freedom” and discovered the best way to get free was to get up and walk out the door.

After 14 years and a MILLION bucks, Beghe finally decided the cult was “dangerous” and left. By that time, he was estranged from family and friends. Benghe said: “My experience personally, and what I’ve observed for myself, is that Scientology is destructive and a rip-off.”
"It’s very, very dangerous for your spiritual, psychological and mental, emotional health and evolution. I think it stunts your evolution.”

If you want to see Jason's entire interview go here:

Also very interesting, the person who conducted the interview had their YouTube account closed after posting their interview on the YouTube website. Maybe YouTube/Google have some involvement or staff who are involved with The Church of Scientology? VERY interesting...

Heres a teaser of the interview. I have watched it in its entirety and I believe Mr. Beghe is being honest and sincere.

Not Everyone Was Happy To See The Pope...

You gotta love America and our right to freedom of speech!!
But of course people think throwing in a little homophobia is the ultimate insult....stops me from taking them serious.

Pope at Yankee Stadium....

Today, Pope Benedict XVI made his final appearance in NYC at Yankee Stadium to a crowd of 58,000 people. I live a few blocks from the stadium and the buzz in the air was amazing. Streets were blocked, helicopters in the sky and thousands of his flock walking around with excitment and anticipation for the big event. Someone even came to my apartment door today selling Pope memorabilia!!
My personal opinion is not important. What's important, is that for many, today was a moment they have waited their entire lives for and I respect that.

Pope Visits Ground Zero....

In his usual rockstar way, Pope Benedict XVI visited Ground Zero today. It was a very moving ceremony. I hope his visit will finally bring peace and closure to some family members who had loved ones that were murdered on
Sept. 11th.

Jennifer Holliday....

Jennifer Holliday created something so special with her performance of Effie in the original Broadway production of "Dreamgirls" in the early 80s.

Holliday originated the role of Effie and remained with the show for nearly four years after its December 20, 1981 opening. Her performance in the role was widely acclaimed, particularly in her iconic performance of the musical number that ends Act I, "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going".
Among the acclaim was Holliday's sweep of awards in 1982, including the Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical, a Grammy award for her recorded version of the song, and Drama Desk and Theater World awards for the performance.

If you have never seen this clip, check it out....it's simply amazing.

PEBBLES
This ring series reflects interest in exploring the notion of preciousness within the seemingly non-valuable. The rarity of the material is not any longer the defining aspect that renders the object precious

VESSELS
Vessel ring that conceptually contains, carries, transports what is personal to one. The dimensions and form for this ring stems from the body, emerging from the contours of the hand.

TRANSITIONS
In the ‘Transitions’ series the starting point is an old, reclaimed chair. Through observing its function, form and materiality and through a series of interventions, a number of jewellery pieces have emerged.

FRAGMENTS
Trying to capture fragments in time and space (and place) has been the main source of inspiration for the ‘Fragments’ series. Drawing from the surrounding environment, the patterns for this series appear.

Sexy Hot...

Martina and Chris....

Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert were on Oprah the other day....I respect them both so much.
TRUE ICONS!
Heres an excerpt from the show:
While the press loved to run stories about their rivalry, Chris and Martina say they completely supported each other off the court. "What's weird about tennis is you're both in the locker room before the match and after the match, and one is very happy and one is very sad," Martina says. "But we would put our arms around each other and say, 'You know what, I was lucky,' or, 'Next time you're going to get it, I'm sure', and, 'Are you okay?' Or we would leave notes in each other's racket bags for later." Between defecting to the United States and being an openly gay athlete, Martina has been placed under scrutiny more than once and has become a role model for many. Chris says she knew Martina had guts from the moment she met her. "You lived your truth and you had a clear conscience and you felt great about yourself, so that is the most important thing," Chris says.

Princess Diana Unlawfully Killed....

A coroner's jury in London ruled Monday that Princess Diana and boyfriend Dodi Al Fayed were unlawfully killed through the reckless actions of their driver and paparazzi in 1997.The jury had been told a verdict of unlawful killing would mean they believed the reckless behavior of the driver and paparazzi amounted to manslaughter. It was the most serious verdict available to them.

Mohammed Al Fayed, Dodis father, still believes they were murdered and released this statement out side of court today.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BILLIE HOLIDAY
April 7, 1915 to July 17, 1959

Billie Holiday, jazz vocal icon ,changed the art of American pop vocals forever. Her vocal style strongly inspired by instrumentalists — pioneered a new way of manipulating wording and tempo, and also popularized a more personal and intimate approach to singing. To read her amazing and tragic bio go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billie_Holiday

Strange Fruit," a song based on a poem about lynching written by Abel Meeropol, a Jewish schoolteacher from the Bronx. Meeropol used the pseudonym "Lewis Allan" for the poem, which was set to music and performed at teachers' union meetings.

"If you copy, it means your're working without any feelings. No two people on earth are alike and it's got to be that way in music or it isnt music" - Billie Holiday

In 1972, Diana Ross portrayed her in a film that was loosely based on Lady Sings the Blues, the autobiography she co-authored with William Dufty, which earned Ross an Oscar nomination for Best Actress. In 1987, Billie Holiday was posthumously awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. In 1994, the United States Postal Service introduced a Billie Holiday postage stamp, she ranked #6 on VH1's 100 Greatest Women in Rock n' Roll in 1999, and she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000. Over the years, there have been many recorded tributes to Billie Holiday, including "Angel of Harlem," a 1988 release by the group U2.

Olympic Torch Extinguished ....

This is getting very interesting.....
In Paris, security officials have extinguished the Olympic torch for a second time amid heavy protests during the torch relay in Paris.
Police have escorted the flame onto a bus, apparently to move it away from protesters.
The flame was being carried out of a Paris traffic tunnel by an athlete in a wheelchair when it was stopped because protesters booed and began chanting "Tibet."
It was the second time Monday that officials extinguished the torch amid protests. The procession was apparently being continued on board a bus.
Lets see if China does the right thing.....

Quote of The Day ....

"Fear makes strangers of people who should be friends" - Shirley MacLaine

Charlton Heston

10/04/1924 - 04/05/2008

Although I didnt agree with Mr. Hestons conservative personal views, I do feel it is necessary to acknowledge his film career as an icon of 1950's cinema.

In 1959, Mr. Heston won the Best Actor Academy Award for his portrayal of Ben-Hur.

I still have this vivid memory of when I was a child watching "The Ten Commandments". The scene when Moses(Heston) parts the Red Sea,was a moment in film I found to be amazing.

I wonder how Mr. Heston, the former president of The National Rifle Association, will feel when he finds out "there are no guns in heaven"?

NAOMI CAMPBELL ARRESTED AGAIN....

Naomi Campbell was arrested yet again on April 3rd at Heathrow Airport. This time, the stunning supermodel allegedly caused a scene onboard after being told one of her carry on bags was missing. Police were called and she spat in the face of one officer. She was escorted off the plane in handcuffs.

I bet this scene was freakin scary!!

I think Naomi should be sentenced to being a maid for 6 months. All while being detoxed, hit with cell phones and forced to wear ugly sensible shoes! She has so much to be thankful for and yet she completely acts like a disrespectful spoiled bitch.

GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER NAOMI!! YOUR GETTING BORING!!

The Pregnant Man and Oprah....

I just finished watching Thomas Beatie the "Pregnant Man" on Oprah.
Im sure we will be hearing every minute detail about this story for months and months..if not years.
All I want to say is about this topic is what Thomas and his wife said
" Love Makes A Family".

Why is it after being on TV for 150 years, that Oprah still has a hard time saying the words "Penis" or "Vagina"?........its so stupid and crazy. She rolls her eyes and flaps her arms whenever she has to mention these "forbidden words".
I feel Oprah is way off her game this season.
Maybe its the death of her beloved dog Sophie or her girls school finger fucking incident?
