Over the last five years, we have lost nearly 4,000 Americans and spent over $525 billion. This doesnt include the tens of thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians who have lost their lives. Yet there is no end in sight. The cost of both the Afghanistan and Iraq wars is expected to reach $1.7 trillion this year.
Our veterans risked their lives for our country. We must honor their sacrifice by considering veterans’ care a cost of this war.
