I went to the US Open with my good friend Rafael last night....Great Time!!
This US Open is always one of the highlights of my summer here in NYC.
Its a great venue, cool, diverse, enthusiastic crowd and always a fun time....last night was no exception!
We saw two matches, the third round of the womens and mens singles.
Former NYC Mayor David Dinkins and his wife were there celebrating their 55th anniversary, plus John McEnroe!

Dinara Safina
Beijing Olympic Silver medalist, Dinara Safina came back from a slow start and beat her opponent Timea Bacsinszky 6-3,7-5.6-2. At one point in the second set, Safina was only two points from loosing the entire match and fought back and won!Timea Bacsinszky
Mardy Fish
The second match of the evening was between Mardy Fish and Yonkers NY native James Blake.
But the night belonged to Mardy Fish,who won in straight sets, the the match ending with a tiebreaker,6-3,6-3,7-6(4).
Fish was completely incontrol and on top of his game last night. James Blake just couldnt handle Fishes 130mph 1st serve aces and put the points together to come out on top. This was my first time seeing Mardy Fish and I am a new fan!
